Goodbye, Old Friend

  • Watching: Death Note
Well...I must report on some very sad news. Just two days ago, the last episode of one of my all-time favorite anime ended-Inuyasha. I knew this day would eventually come, but it's still sad. It's been a big part of my life for nearly four years now, since the very first episode. I remember staying up late every Saturday night to catch the latest episode, and when it moved to weeknights, I set the vcr every night so I wouldn't miss any of the feudal era goodness. I did miss a few eps here and there, most recently the third to last. Hope they reshow it soon.

It's hard to believe that there's not another episode to look forward to. It'll take a while to get used to, I guess. Maybe if I can find something new to watch, that'll help. I did get to see the first episode of Death Note last night, so maybe that'll help.

yeah, I was a bit sad when IY ended too... I finished watching the sub a while back because I was too impatient ^^; Here in Canada, we're not quite done yet, we're at the Miroku's Past Mistake, so almost there :)

Yeah Inuyasha has been a routine for me for the past few years too. I watched and taped it religiously, but after a while, I guess it's more of habit than really watching it for the content (since I've seen it once before...). I used to be obsessed with IY (until Furuba took over, and now SEED took over). And I guess I can thank IY for my SEED obsession too, because it's because I was watching IY that I accidentally stumbled across SEED.

I dunno, Inuyasha is a bit too long imo. I think I started losing interest after a while. I used to follow the manga after the anime was done, but after chapters of upgrading this weapon or that, I've started to get bored... I think 480 something chapters is a bit too much... then it starts to get somewhat repetitive... though the recent chapters are quite amusing. I think I follow it now more out of habit...

As for something new to watch, how about Ouran? It's quite funny, but more Shoujo-based.

Yeah, I think Inuyasha has gotten a bit too long and repetetive, though it does seem like the end is drawing near. I can't see it lasting too much longer, as loose ends seem to be beginning to be tied up now. I will be sad when it's all over, but all good things must come to an end. I think Inuyasha is done upgrading his weapon now, so at least we won't have to go through another arc about that. I'll still keep reading it because I can't imagine not knowing how it all ended. That, and it gives me something to look forward to every week.

I'll have to check out Ouran. It sounds pretty good. I haven't seen a whole lot of shoujo before. I think just Fruits Basket, which I loved. I know this is probably silly, but it helped me get through a very tough time a couple of years ago. I think from all the anime I've seen, I've probably learned the most from that one. I watch Tsubasa too, though it doesn't seem all that shoujo to me, though I heard that's what it is. I do like xxxHolic too, but haven't seen a whole lot of it yet.
